| Wow! Who could be luckier
than living in "Trauth Dairy Country" and
able to enjoy all 35 flavors of their delicious ice
cream?
They say "Americans eat an average of about
23 quarts of ice cream annually" and I’m
sure our family does our share.
If you keep a good supply of flavors in your freezer,
you can be ready for all kinds of goodies. One of
our grandchildren’s favorites is a tall glass
of Trauth Chocolate Milk
and a huge scoop of Trauth
Strawberry Ice Cream. It is so refreshing on a
hot summer afternoon! Another winner is our grape
blizzard. I put a glass of grape juice and a scoop
of Trauth Vanilla Ice Cream
in the blender. Yum!
When friends or family stop over in the evening,
I love to dice up a cantaloupe on a large platter
and serve with scoops of Trauth
Vanilla Ice Cream or slice a bunch of kiwi and
serve over Trauth Strawberry
Ice Cream. No one can resist these treats.
Roy and I came from the "old school" of
ice cream sodas and they seem to be a thing of the
past. We wanted our grandchildren to know of the fun
we used to have visiting the local soda fountain,
so I got a few bottles of soda water and we had a
great time creating sodas with wonderful flavors of
Trauth ice cream. Simply put a big scoop of ice cream
in a tall glass and slowly add the cold soda water.
The all-time favorite winner was the Blackberry
Cordial soda. Next, was Pineapple
Sherbet soda. What a fun evening we all had and
I couldn’t believe all the creative combinations
they came up with.
Of course, before they all went home, everyone wanted
at least a small hot fudge sundae with Grandma’s
famous sauce!
Famous Hot Fudge Sauce

1 stick margarine
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup cocoa powder
Add: 3 cups sugar (add 1/2 cup at a time, stirring
well after each addition)
Slowly Add: 1 – 13 ounce can evaporated milk
Bring to a boil, boil 5 minutes stirring often. Remove
from heat.
Add: 1 tablespoon vanilla
Makes one quart. Keep refrigerated.
Bring on the spoons and bowls!
Smile always, Bev Nye
